Kate studied illustration at Manchester university and graduated in 1994. Moving on to complete her MA at Kingston, she discovered a new medium of screening printing, which has become her love and passion. This has since led onto many years in a career as a successful screen printer and for a great deal of illustration clients and individual galleries and exhibitions.
Kate’s world is firmly fixed in the artisan printmaking arena and it is here that she feels deeply rooted, creating her digital multi layered images, juxtaposing swathes of vibrant colour, hand drawn sketches, found objects and photographic elements to use.
The soul and atmosphere of each city are beautifully caught by the urban landscapes she creates, with the heat and urban traffic of New york, the narrow streets and cafe culture of Paris, the iconic and statuesque landmarks of London and the canals and luminescent vibrancy of the sunshine over Venice.
The inextricable link between Love, memories and cities are an emotion that is felt amongst us all and shall be forever entwined within her work. With every restaurant, street or building across every continent of the world, comes a monument to our own personal memories, encounters and experiences…it is clear to see why we covet those memories in such beautiful art images.
Kate is based in Edinburgh , with her work being widely used in the design, editorial and advertising sectors.
