Paul Evans has garnered significant acclaim for his remarkable watercolours, acrylics, and etchings, all of which bear the unmistakable influence of British landscapes and coastlines. Specifically, he draws inspiration from the captivating regions of East Anglia, the Sussex Downland, the Kent Weald, and the wild coastal and moorland areas of Cornwall.

In his artworks, Paul masterfully captures the essence of these places by meticulously examining and immersing himself in a select few locations throughout the year. With an unwavering commitment, he consistently experiments with a variety of techniques and materials, perpetually striving to discover fresh approaches that skilfully portray the ever-shifting light and seasons.

Paul’s artistic journey commenced at the esteemed Eastbourne College of Art and Design, where he focused on illustration and printmaking during the period from 1972 to 1976. Since his graduation, he has been fortunate enough to sustain himself solely through his artistic endeavours. Initially, he showcased his creations at the renowned Ralph Lewis Gallery situated within Brighton’s lively Lanes, and from the outset, his paintings were met with an overwhelmingly positive response, attracting eager buyers who swiftly snapped up every piece he produced.

Over the years

Paul Evans has impressively hosted approximately 75 individual exhibitions while also participating in numerous group shows. These events have consistently drawn large crowds of patrons, with his works often selling out shortly after their opening night. Remarkably, his art has found homes in collections across the globe, captivating connoisseurs and enthusiasts in countries such as America, Japan, Australia, and various parts of Europe. Additionally, he has fostered a devoted fellowship of admirers who reside closer to his British roots.
