Having built an extensive collector base internationally that includes the likes of Jenson Button, Sir Alex Ferguson, Wretch32 and Theo Paphitis, the ever renowned Oz has in the past decade become one of the nation’s most collectable and exclusive artists.
The versatile Midlands based painter and sculptor has rightfully earned his place at the top table of commercial art with his portraits and sculptures instantly recognisable due to their ‘explosive’ nature, something Paul Oz is credited as the premier worldwide artist of his kind.
With such an impressive body of work and a global fanbase it is unsurprising that Paul’s portfolio attracted the support and collaboration of some of the world’s most successful brands leading to Oz working alongside the likes of Red Bull, Selfridges and Pirelli.
Solo shows in London, Monaco, Singapore and Mexico City have courted considerable media interest and firmly established Paul’s already growing reputation, which lead to a desire to use his new found success for charitable purposes. Paul is incredibly proud to use his name as a patron of ‘It’s In The Bag’, one of the UK’s most important testicular cancer awareness charities, alongside fantastic work with Great Ormond Street Hospital amongst others.
Oz has also created work for the likes of Sir Bradley Wiggins, Muhammad Ali As well as commissioned work for the families of Ayton Senna, James Hunt and Bruce Lee , limited editions are released of many pieces – hand embellished canvases with loads of paint added on top with the same tools and technique to bring them as close as possible to the original.
Represented in galleries around the UK by Wishbone Publishing and in F1 around the world by Memento Exclusives.
on a commission basis – as well as– Paul’s undeniable allure, captivation and ability to enthral his audiences have long been a source of great admiration.
About The Artist
A flippant remark of ‘I could do that…’ when browsing galleries for something bright to adorn the walls of a new build rented flat, has turned out to be a seminal moment. The ensuing experiments with a 4 pack of acrylics, and quickly rediscovered skill of making a subjectively attractive looking mess, was the start of a life changing journey. Painting at weekends as a break from software brand development, my first gallery solo show was in 2008, and I thought I was balancing things pretty well. However…. since focusing on painting full time early 2010, its all gone a little nuts….
I was alright at school if I remember correctly, being able to replicate Monet’s style reasonably, draw pretty realistically in pencil, and won a prize for something as a wee sprog. But – thankfully to be honest – I was persuaded to follow a more academic route. As it panned out, that meant that 15 years later when I started throwing paint around the initially spotless kitchen, that I could practice, learn and develop my style un-pressured – to gradually build up to the sole focus it’s become now, of being my passion, life and livelihood all in one.
I’m perhaps not a textbook artist – my entire aim is for visual impact, to capture characters in a unique way that blows your socks off and to elicit a response something along the lines of ‘woooohhhhaaa!’. The beauty of creating portraits is that each one could mean absolutely everything or nothing at all to you….. but everyone has an idol, mentor, someone they’re a massive fan of or indeed love… its an absolute honour to be asked to immortalise them all in paint.
