About The Artist
Jeremy studied at the school of Art in Northampton and has been greatly inspired by architecture, the sun and shadows, texture and light, along with atmosphere and ambience.
Being a keen and avid traveller, he has created the most atmospheric paintings of many of the worlds most romantic and iconic cities , towns and coast lines… Venice, Verona, Marseilles, Provence, St Tropez, Marrakech and Norfolk! To name but a few. He is now based in Holt , Norfolk, where he loves to paint the coastal towns of Holkham, Hunstanton, Brancombe Blakeney and many more.
Using the mediums of oil, acrylic and watercolours, he creates with the challenges of perspective, evocativeness and serenity throughout his work. Painting directly onto Gesso primed board, which gives him a slight texture and allows the paint to adhere well, he achieves a very solid finish. He also sketches in watered down acrylics.
On his many intrepid travels, he creates as many as 50-60 paintings , varying in size and often does intricate drawings overlaid with blocks of colour and tone, usually in Acrylic.
Jeremy’s work has a feeling of romance and nostalgia and emanates in the beauty of colour and texture . His exhibitions at The Royal institute of Oil painters, held annually, from 2014 -2017 have elevated him and his work to great heights and his following is faithful.
